Super simple girl's gathered skirt.
My niece sized.
Sew a tube wider than the kid and as long as you want. Insert elastic. Hem it however you want. Put it on a kid.
I used a woven cotton with a shot of gold thread (Lurex, I think it's called) in it for the solid dark turquoise. (3/8 yard)
When I wore a dress made of the same fabric, my niece told said, "You are a little bit big. But I like your dress." Hahaha! Since she liked the fabric, I used the remaining bits to make her this skirt. Now the fabric is used up. Score!
I used a lightweight knit for the cherry print. The fabric is off-grain, and I hate it, and now that I made this skirt, I am done with the entire yardage and my life is now complete. (I used more fabric for this skirt because I needed to cut out two pieces and true it up--1 yard!) I did a lettuce edging on that skirt.
I have to mail these to my niece, but hopefully she'll like them. (And by that I mean her mother.)
