|Pattern Description: |
From the pattern envelope: "Misses' / Miss Petite dress"
Princess seam and front darted dress has centre back zipper and neckline facing.
Multi-sized pattern sizes 6-16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes and no. No, because the shoulder seam is quite wide, which is not represented in the pattern illustration. Yes, because I cut the armhole smaller at the shoulder seam down to the notches.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Actually, it is a basic dress design, I didn't follow the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I didn't like how the back lower shoulder looked. I ended up taking it in at the side seams and re-cut the armhole opening. I made the dress for my mom and she really likes the shape of the neckline.
Polyester crepe with stretch.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Plus I shortened it two inches from the hemline and then cut another 1 1/2" when it came to doing the hem. I stitch an inch hemline with a blind hem. Also, the pattern piece for the sleeves call for four pieces to be cut and the sleeve is self-lined. I only cut two and did a narrow rolled hem because of the weight of my fabric I thought it would be too bulky.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably would not sew this pattern again unless Mom asked for another one. I would recommend making a muslin first. The illustration is not a true representation of the shoulder armhole area.
