|Pattern Description: |
the jedediah pant is a new pattern by a new pattern company called Thread Theory.
Chino-style trousers updated with a slim, casual fit, back yoke and stylish slash front pockets. These pants include two length options - knee length shorts with rolled cuff and full length trousers. They will wear well in a denim, corduroy or twill with the extra durability of flat fell seams. They could also be made in a lighter cotton or linen when sewn as summer shorts. The design includes top stitched belt loops, a fly (with detailed photo sewing instructions), back patch pockets with customiz- able decorative stitching, and large slash front pockets.
mens size 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40
note that this pattern may run slimmer than RTW. a chart of finished measurements is included.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
the directions for this pattern are very well written, thorough, and easy to follow. also, they are beginning a sew-a-long on their blog on august 15th.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i like that this pattern includes all the bells and whistles of a good RTW pant. it has pocket facings, fly shield, flat-felled seam options, etc. my only dislike is the foldover-style fly facing; i prefer a two piece.
100% cotton twill
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
none other than hemming them to a shorts length instead of the rolled up cuff version.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
i will most definitely be sewing this pattern again. my husband is very pleased with his new shorts and has already requested a few pairs of pants as well. like i said, the directions are very thorough and detailed so if this is your first shot at pants, it's a good pattern to try!
