Pattern Sizing: Misses 6 - 22 available. I used size 14-16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? It did except for the modifications I made.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Very simple.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked everything about the pattern. Simple and versatile. Have used before and will use again.
>Fabric Used: I purchased a cotton from Walmart. Their selection isn't great but I can usually find fabrics for summer clothing there. Otherwise, I have to travel 30 min. to buy fabric. Very glad WM decided to stock fabric again.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I spent awhile working with the tissue to fit the darts. I cut a rectangle out around the darts and lowered it. This has worked well for me recently.
I also had to taper out from the Size 14 in the top to a Size 16 at the bottom.
I decided not to use the facings and used double folded bias tape instead. I trimmed the neckline about 1/4 inch and applied the folded out tape to the edge, then I turned it over and topstitched. I did the same thing on the sleeve, but I didn't trim anything off. This created an almost cap sleeve which I prefer. I do wish though that I had trimmed a little off the undersleeve as it is a bit tight there. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I plan to make one for my daughter next.
Conclusion: I love this pattern. I especially like that you can make it dressy or or fun and playful depending on what fabric you use. I also like how easy it was to make up. Wonderful for a summer shift.
