Misses jacket and vest. Suggested fabrics: fleece, ltwt melton. Some views: denim, corduroy, damask, twill, velveteen.
My envelope is size 8 through 16. I used size 8 even though the envelope says I should use size 12 based on bust measurement.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Mostly, though I did not add the ruffle around the inner edge.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
No, the instructions skipped around for all of the views.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that this is a fleece vest I can wear to work to try to stay warm.
Polartec 200 fleece for the vest, silk dupioni for the bias binding. The silk was leftover from another vest made this month.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
1. Cut my own bias binding instead of using pre-made.
2. Used one hook & eye instead of having no front closure.
3. Added the jeweled embellishments at the front and made a matching bracelet.
4. Left off the ruffle.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am a Pacific-Northwest casual dresser at heart so I like sneaking Polartec into my office job wardrobe, working in financial services. Plus, I could go hiking right after work and not have to take off the vest!
