|I've already reviewed this once before, but I just wanted to write another review to just rave more about how much I love this pattern!!! I use it all the time. Not just for these costumes shown, but as a basic children's bodice for sizing just when I'm making up patterns. The sizing is just spot on for my kids, and well, as in these photos, for my sister's kids. With these costumes, I made absolutely no changes whatsoever to the pattern. |
My sister lives in Switzerland, and her oldest daughter *loves* Heidi, (the book and movies), and so I thought she needed a Heidi costume. I mean, how can you live in Switzerland and not want to dress like Heidi?? Come on, you know you would want to... Anyway, I couldn't make her one without making her little sister one as well. So I did. My sister suggested a "Sound of Music--curtain-type" look for them, so I picked quilting fabric accordingly.
My sister bought her other little boys lederhosen and some Swiss shirts at second-hand stores there to complete the look. And then they went to this awesome (as she described) Swiss heritage living history museum to take pictures. So fun. Here's the blog post in case you'd like to see more. Blog post to see more photos and beautiful Switzerland.
