Pattern Description: Misses' & Miss Petite Amazing Fit Pants
Misses' & Miss Petite Amazing Fit pants in two lengths with individual pattern pieces for slim, average and curvy fit includes customized fitting instructions.
Pattern Sizing: I used the 12 average pattern. I went through their whole "customized fitting instructions" when I made my as-yet-unreviewed Simplicity 1696 pants and can't say I recommend using the Curvy, even if you fit that category.
Just use the average and alter.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much, though I lengthened mine to my preferred 30" inseam.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They would get the job done. I found them a little confusing, and I sewed my pants out of order due to not having matching thread the first day.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the pockets and the cute belt carrier tabs.
Fabric Used: A light stretch cotton twill. This would not have been my first choice of fabric, but I had bought it to make another pair of pants and already had the matching zippers for the pockets.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I altered for fit, taped the fly piece onto the front for a cut-on fly, and lengthened the pants to full length. I changed the way they had you sew the side pocket together because I could not get my stretch fabric to stay in place. I added interfacing at the hem and fly, as well.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I like the pants. They finish with about a 16" leg width which is a good width for me.
Conclusion: I hope to make them again with some different pockets.
