|I wish I could bring this pattern back into print; it never ever goes out of style.|
Very loose fitting unlined jacket with self-cord drawstrings. Could be edgefinished with bias tape, could be made reversible with appropriate lining. High water pants have pleated waistband and drawstring at ankle. I have made the jacket and the pants at different times over the years, but never as happily as the shirt.
The shirt is a pullover, cowl neck with cut-on sleeves, three big pleats along the cowl seam (which continues down on the diagonal to the hem). Rollover hem. Sleeves are presented with buttoned cuffs, a look that I think does not fit with the rest of the style. Back has a pleat at the bottom, pulling the hem in.
Over the years, I have dropped the back bottom pleat (I'm a wide bodied mama now) and ignored the cuffs. Sometimes I roll the hem, roll the hem and face it with a contrast bias interior trim (also use for cowl finish), or extend the material, roll a wide hem, and button through at the seam. I've had a lot of fun with this, photos will follow.
