Pattern Description:
Invest some time in Albion to create a classic duffle style coat (version 1) or jacket (version 2). Each version features toggle closures, tailored two-piece sleeves, yoke details, and a stylish three-piece hood. Version 1 is a mid-thigh length coat with patch pockets, in-seam pockets, a detachable hood tab, and flannel lining. Version 2 is a hip-length unlined jacket with a combination of felled and bound seams, in-seam pockets, and interior pockets. Albion is a versatile, simple shape that transitions easily from menswear to women’s wear. (from Colette website)
Pattern Sizing:
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I also followed the online sewalong on Colette's website which provides very clear photos and further explanation of construction steps.
Fabric Used:
Wool boucle coating and wool flannel lining. The coating is interlined with another layer of wool flannel, which makes 3 layers of wool. Yes, it's incredibly warm, but I needed it!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Narrowed the shoulders
Shortened the length of coat and sleeves
Substituted in-seam pockets (from Vogue 8346)
Added elastic casing to sleeve lining
Added piping at yokes, patch pockets, and sleeve tabs
Added a separating zipper at center front

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Oh yes, this is a classic style that I will hold on and almost certainly make again. I do recommend the pattern.

Absolutely adorable inside and out! I love the detailing on the outside and the plaid lining, too.
