|Pattern Description: One of the newest pattern from MariaDenmark - Olivia is an over sized tee. What does that mean? It is a relaxed silhouette which does not compromise on style! |
Pattern Sizing:XS - 4XL! I used size XS based on my high bust measurement and it worked like a charm.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? One of the reasons I like to support Indie designers is because they put in so much thought into each and every pattern they design. This one is no exception. The instructions are awesome with step by step photos.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I usually wear more fitted styles so I wasn't sure what to expect but I had the perfect fabric for it and this is MariaDenmark month on PR so I wanted to put in my entry (not eligible for prizes of course). I started falling in love with this pattern as I was sewing it. For starters, clever construction of this top allows it to be sewn completely on the serger! Love that.
The relaxed fit is so trendy and so comfortable. I can wear it with skinny jeans (ok I admit, skinny jeggings!), pencil skirt and honestly I think I will make a few of these as PJ tops as well! I think I might even make it as an evening top in a glittery knit I have.
I love love love the shape of the neckline! It wide enough to be stylish without gapping.
Fabric Used: Buttery soft Rayon Jersey I bought years ago at Montreal PR Weekend. I am getting all my pieces ready for PR weekend Austin and I like to sew from fabric bought at previous PR weekends.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I sewed straight from the pattern. No alterations but I think I will shorten the sleeve and hem bands. I think they are supposed to be a little more snug. My fabric was super stretchy though, so I am not sure if it was because of that.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? You bet! I highly recommend this pattern for a quick to sew stylish tee. We all need a couple of these in our closets.
Conclusion: A shirt in which you want to sleep in, as well as go out for a girls night, is a winner in my opinion!
