Have you bought anything from this store? If yes were the prices competitive?
The best thing about this store is the competitve prices. No need to hunt for coupons, just go in and get what you need. Patterns are only $1, but they are circa '82!
Were the sales people polite and friendly?
If you can find a someone on the floor, he/she is quite knowledgeable. Occasionally, I can find someone to point me in the right direction. With that said, this is the type of store you need to visit when you have plenty of time to casually look for what you want. I get most of my questions answered when I'm getting my fabric cut.
How would you rate the quality of the item this store sells?
This store has a wide range of fabric and I think the quality is above average (most of the time). Only buy fabric and trims. Add zippers to that, because they have the lowest prices I've seen. I think the thread may have dry rot.
How was your shopping experience. Is there anything you did not like about this store?
This store has a great selection of satin, crepe and all things shiny. Huge selection of suitings and linen. I think what they are known for is their trims. I've never seen so much ribbon and spangles.
Because of its lack of organization, I tend to shop the rooms I know and forget about everything else. I was brave enough to venture upstairs and into the basement once. I'll never do that again. I had no idea what I was looking at and it seems those rooms were a free-for-all. The main floor is at least tolerable.
This is not your small, intimate fabric store. Warehouse is taken quite literally. It is unbelievably dirty and one could pass out from the dust in the basement. Wash everything you buy from here immediately.
Would you shop here again?
I love shopping here. If I need anything formal and shiny, this is my first stop. This is also where I get my ribbon and zippers. When I get serious about my pants and skirts, this is where I'll go for suitings. It has a decent knit section too. Jo-Ann and Hancock have a larger fleece selection. I think the heavens would part if I walked in and could find wool tweed.
Would you recommend this store to others?
I recommend this store to anyone who wants to save a money on their sewing projects, but this place isn't for the faint of heart. If you are an experienced sewist and love the thrill of the hunt, you'll love this place. Newbies should tackle it one room at a time and with someone experienced.
Any other comments you would like to add?
The store is closed on Saturdays and will soon start closing at 2 on Fridays. I don't know if the 2:00 closing is just for fall and winter. This store is very polarizing -- either you love it or you hate it.

LOL! I also love this place! It's a holy mess in there, but it's great fun for those who love the thrill of the hunt. I totally agree that you should wash anything you buy right away! I went upstairs the first time I went there and stood there for at least 10 minutes and just stared. I had no idea where to start and I completely forgot what it was I went up there to look for. I was horrified and awed at the same time. Love this review!
