I thought I would review this store as we don't have many independents here in Perth Western Australia. This store is close to Victoria Park right on the corner of Albany Highway and Welshpool Road.
Homecraft Textiles is on the other side of the city to where I live and I have driven past a few times but the family have always been in tow, not a good time to shop for fabric! I happened to be in the area when dropping off the DDs so decided to go and have a look.
I was really impressed with the friendly service of the staff and the family feel to it. While I was there a regular took her mum in to meet the owners and they were sitting down in the office area having a chat about family life. This did not impact on service at all as there were many other staff on the floor. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
The range of fabrics and notions was amazing from sari fabrics, Samoen print cottons to silks. The prices were very reasonable for good quality fabrics. While there I purchased a drill for $7per metre, a stretch denim for $10 per metre and a luxurious knit for $20 per metre. There was a great section on non-quilting co-ordinating prints as well as home furnishings. Within the notions there was a great range of ribbons and trims.
In conclusion this store is well worth visiting and I will make a special trip to visit again, just need to work on that stash reduction first!
