Have you bought anything from this store? If yes were the prices competitive?
I have bought 5(count 'em)FIVE Babylock sewing machines, sergers and embroidery machines, etc. from them in the past four years. When I found the machine I wanted I always checked the Babylock site to find when the next BIG sale was and went to the store at that time. The prices were always the same as advertised and a fair market value. The store has racks of sewing machine accessories, feet, etc and while not at a discount, you can be sure that what you need is there! If for some reason they don't have it; they will try to order it for you. On a recent visit I needed to get a copy of a sewing machine manual and while they didn't have it in stock, they were able to order it for me.
Were the sales people polite and friendly?
This is an exceptional store for knowledgeable and friendly people. They all know their stuff. The store owner is Harvey Federman; from what I understand Harvey started out as a Singer repair man and grew to regional manager. He knows machines inside and out! It was actually Harvey who sold me my first machine at this store fours years ago.
The store carries Babylock, Viking, Janome, Bernina and other brands. I was looking for a machine for a second home and actually went to the store to look at the Vikings which I loved. Unfortunately, I did not see a Viking that I feel in love with at my price point...as I was walking out Harvey suggested Babylock to me. The rest is history. What impressed me was that Harvey was able to 'read between the lnes' of what I was saying and was able to help me find the right machine for me.
I have gone back to the store since then to buy an Imagine serger, an Emore embroidery machine and an Espire; each time I had a different salesperson and both ladies were extremely helpful and didn't rush me through the demo and answered as many questions as I had. While they did not ask me if I wanted to sit in front of the machines and sew, I expect they would have allowed me to had I asked. This store is know for it's friendly and knowledgebale help...I've heard people calling on the phone asking questions about how to do something and they were very patiently given the help they needed. How would you rate the quality of the item this store sells? This store is NOT a discounted sewing store and you won't find a 'hot' deal here; but you WILL get a great quality machine or product and the service that goes with it. I have taken two machines to be serviced here; one was having it's first 'check-up' in 15 years...it says something when I trust the store with one of my babies!
How was your shopping experience. Is there anything you did not like about this store?
What I like best about Sew Right is that you go in and the sewing machines are very neatly displayed in the front(no dust here!). The machine area is organized, each machine is clealy marked with basic details and current price; also, some samples may have been stitched out for you to view. I like to just walk around the sewing machine area and look at the machines...they are all so pretty! In fact, it may be dangerous for me to go there as it always seems I see something else I want!!
The only downside to this store is that it is very small, or at least seems so. Every spot in the store is occupied! There is a sewing machine section in the front and directly behind it is the class area (which, although small, is very efficiently set up) On the other side of the front you have the main entrance and register area and behind that you would find all the notions, fabric, thread, etc. I have yet to venture past the register and sewing machine area....sometimes I feel like the area with the notions is 'off-limits! It would be wonderful to have this store in a larger building so you could look through all they had but they have done well working with what they have.
Would you shop here again?
The stores main venue is sewing machines; however, they also have about 300 bolts of quilting fabric and notions, embroidery threads and designs. In addtion, you can buy Horn cabinets and Tutto bags! The store has a vigorous class schedule both for machines and also learn-to-sew, quilting, embroidery classes. Occasionally you will see a notice that Kenneth King or another 'celebrity' is holding a class there. As I don't live very close to this store I ahve only been able to attend one machine class.
Would you recommend this store to others?
This is definitely the place to get the machine you're looking for at a fair price and the quality service that goes with it.
Any other comments you would like to add?
I have never had an 'issue' that I've had to deal with them on, but if
I did I have no doubt that it would be handled to my satisfaction.
*EDITED TO ADD* Sew Right is located in a small neighborhood shopping area. The only parking available is street and meter parking which is a premium. Directly in front of the store is a bus stop. Don't let this stop you from visiting there as they will carry any heavy items to your cars...sewing machines or cabinets, etc.

Great review on what sounds like a very successful business. As an elna dealer who is often asked to repair other brands, it's comforting to know that Sew Right has parts and will seek out parts for machines and sergers. Thanks for sharing.
Sew Right is wonderful, I have purchased all of my machines from them and attended several classes, they are the best
However I live a far distance and elected to buy my most recent machine closer to home .
I only have very good feelings about sewright, I just wish they were closer to me
