Have you bought anything from this store? If yes were the prices competitive?

I make most of my sewing purchases at this JoAnn Fabrics because it is the closest location to my apartment. I think that some prices are a little high (in general, I think that $15 for a pattern is too much) but their weekly sales make most things a bargain. I purchased a cutting mat that was the size of my cutting table for $40 rather than the original $80.
I've also purchased Simplicity and McCalls patterns for $1 each.

Were the sales people polite and friendly?

The sales people are polite, but not helpful. My friend and I purchased fabric there for the first time and asked the woman at the cutting counter to check the grain. She didn't know what grain was and acted as if answering his question was a great bother. I vowed never to ask anyone at the cutting table for help again.

How would you rate the quality of the item this store sells?

The quality of the notions is usually good. The fabric is hit or miss. I've purchased fabric that was off grain or that wrinkled way too much or that had blemishes.

How was your shopping experience. Is there anything you did not like about this store?

There is always a huge line at the checkout. They usually have three cashiers working, but there is always a wait.

Would you shop here again?

I will continue to shop here because it is my closest source for supplies.

Would you recommend this store to others?

When I was on vacation in South Carolina, I went to Hancock's for the first time and thought that their fabric was very well organized and well labelled. There are certain fabrics that I have never been able to find at JoAnns that were easy to find at Hancocks. So, I would recommend that chain over this one.

solosmocker 11/3/09 Those two chains each have hundreds of stores around the country. I have worked in that business. The store manager sets the tone for the store. To say one store is better than another is understandable based on your experience. However these two stores really only represent themselves. Yes, policies are set a corporate level but you can read reviews hear of horrible Hancocks and great JAs. You are certainly entitled to shop where you would like but need to remember you can be missing some great fabric shopping experiences based on your decision. I come to these comments because I am blessed with an incredible JAs near us with very knowledgeble staff who are very helpful. It is also ALWAYS well organized and clean. Why? great manager setting the tone.
