Have you bought anything from this store? If yes were the prices competitive?
Yes, I bought two yards of rayon jersey knit. It was $16/yard, so not cheap, but not out of line for the quality.
Were the sales people polite and friendly?
Yes, the two young men (presumably design students, but not sure) working at the store were friendly and seemed happy to be there. Both offered to help me while I was there. While I was shopping, two other customers came in - a lady with her dog, and another woman buying fabric for a costume. Everyone was chatting and offering suggestions to one another. I loved the convivial atmosphere.
How would you rate the quality of the item this store sells?
This is high quality fabric, similar to what you might find at Mood, Emma One Sock, Apple Annie, Gorgeous, to name a few.
How was your shopping experience. Is there anything you did not like about this store?
I wish that the store was bigger so that it could hold more beautiful fabric! Also, I would have liked to have seen a larger selection of woolens. It's a bit hard to get to some of the fabric, since it's stored on rolls upright in bins. However no one complained when I pawed through it, and they were happy to put back what I had taken out and decided not to buy.

I was sad to move back to the Bay Area after being gone for several years, and finding that Poppy had closed! Piedmont is like a smaller version of Poppy. For those without a car, Piedmont is easy to get to on the 51a bus, which runs N/S through Oakland. There is also a fun consignment/vintage store across the street but I forget what it's called.
