Rose City Textiles is located in the industrial section of NW Portland. They specialize in fabrics for outdoor wear and activewear and they have a FABULOUS selection of fabrics and notions for these purchases. We visited the B&M store, but they also have a web site, and you can order over the phone or online.
If you're working on an activewear or outdoor wear project, they have a ton of wicking lycra, waterproof fabric, and performance fleece. Call, and they'll send swatches to help you select the right fabric for your project.
Have you bought anything from this store? If yes were the prices competitive?
Yes, I bought several cuts of wicking lycra for leggings, and a cut of wicking knit for a shirt for my husband. I'll be making us new rain jackets this winter, and I'll likely call them as my source for waterproof fabric. Prices were as expected for the quality.
Were the sales people polite and friendly?
Very much so. Annette runs the B&M store, and she totally charmed us and was very helpful.
How would you rate the quality of the item this store sells?
The quality of fabric that Rose City carries is on the higher end and is priced accordingly. They lycra knit that I bought for my leggings was nice and beefy, and I can't wait to sew it up.
How was your shopping experience. Is there anything you did not like about this store?
Shopping experience was great. I wish that I had been better prepared for their selection of outdoors fabrics and notions and had come with a couple of patterns in hand for projects.
Would you shop here again?
Would you recommend this store to others?
I'd recommend this store to anyone making active wear or making outerwear.
Any other comments you would like to add?
Loved our visit here; I'm sure that I'll be placing orders over the phone and/or visiting again when we're in Portland.
