I always forget exactly how to understitch, even though I've done it many times. So now I have a note written to myself to make it SUPER EASY to remember how to do it. "Understitching = stitch facing to seam allowance". That's what you're doing and all the books have long drawn out explainations, but that's the bottom line and the easiest way for me to remember. Hope it helps someone else!
