closed box
I am trying to be more organized this year. Sometimes I cut down on the kitchen table and sometimes in the sewing room. I have even taken my cutting toolbox with me when I travel.
The cutting toolbox contains everything I need to mark and cut out a pattern and fabric:
a) pattern weights
b) marking tools
c) tracing tools)
d) 12" straight edge
e) paper scissors
f) 2 rotary cutters
g) good sewing sheers
h) box of pins
i) tape measurer (which is not shown because my DD has run off with it)
The best box I have found is the IKEA GLIS Box which has the following dimensions:
Length: 13 3/8 "
Width: 8 1/4 "
Height: 3 1/8 " |
This is another winning idea that I will utilize to create a set of similar boxes--one to keep at home and one to take to my weekly sewing class. Having to get ready for sewing class each week will be greatly simplified with a duplicate set of tools in a box as you suggest. Thanks for another winning idea.

Great tip! I have a cutting table/desk and am forever losing my scissors, tape measure, etc. If I had a box like this, I could put them back in there while working with them and they wouldn't get lost under my patterns and fabric. Thank you!
