Ever been in the fabric store and wondered if there iwas enough of that dream fabric on the bolt to make your next gorgeous garment? Each two folds on ONE side of the fabric bolt is a yard. Now for tubes, your guess is as good as mine!

Or, do a Henry VII (whose foot is 12" long, and whose armspan is 36" inches long ... getting the idea?). Measure your own armspan or handspan or pinkie-to-elbow-span and use that for measurement estimates!

Great tip. beats unrolling the whole bolt and "smelling a yard"

Thanks for that tip. I've often wondered if there was enough of a certain fabric on a bolt and the store is a busy one so I don't like to go ask and this tip just told me some important information that I really am glad to know. Thanks.
