Featured in the PR book!
I have discovered a invaluable tool when altering jeans. It is called several different things - "hump jumper" "seam buster" jean-a-majig" whatever it is called - I couldn't sew without it.

I use it for the super thick parts of cuffs, the crotch and back part of the pants.

See the attached photo for an example of an alteration done using the seam buster.

You can perform the same feats with a basic/cheap beveled wooden 12" ruler. :) It multi-tasks as a measuring tool, too. LOL I promise-- it worked for me!

I've used this tool myself and it's great. When I was hemming jeans for a niece, she asked if and how I could do them. When I told her that had a jean-a-magig or a hump jumper, she seemed confounded...I wonder why....Then of course, I explained.
