This is class is a 3-part fitting class for jackets.

Part 1: Our class hand drafted jacket patterns. There was a lot of class participation here and a lot of support at the beginning of the class. Once I finally got going, I made a draft pattern that fit better than anything that I've made in the past or purchase. I was very excited about this. I did have additional questions which were not answered. The jacket draft was a basic v-neck jacket.

Part 2: This section was on drafting lapels for the jacket. I didn't do much with this section.

Part 3: We used an existing pattern to make a jacket. I'm actually still working through this section.

As with any online sewing class, you only get as much as you put in. However, I felt like this class was abandoned. There were continual problems from the beginning of this class. Multiple times the website was down for what seemed like weeks. I had questions from the Part 1 of the class that was never answered. Part 2, I kinda skipped. Not learning anything from this was entirely my own fault. Part 3, I really tried to get someone's attention here. I sent emails to class, to technical issues for the class, to the website adminstrator, and personal email to the instructor. There didn't seem to be anyone home. Since it is rare to even get an email from any of the existing classes, I think that there is another problem that hasn't been diagnosed or fixed. I haven't made the time to call the customer service.

I have taken many classes from this website and enjoyed every one of them. This is the first time that I've taken a class and not been happy. The one good thing is I can take the class again. As many times as I want to.

I do think that overall this would be an excellent class. I gave it the rating that I did only because of the problems with the website and there not being any responses to the class.

I really wish I had read the reviews before signing up for the Style Upgrade class. Like others I am angry about the lack of response to my calls, emails, and posts. And I too cannot get on the website to even sign in. Not good for an on-line course. I guess I should do a review of the class for this website. But tomorrow.

I too have given up on this site. The site itself requires patience that I no longer have in abundance. I have taken 3 classes and did learn from them but the 3rd was a dress form class and the support was not there. It too was expensive. I am going to stick with the classes here as they have been superb

This information is exactly my experience from the site.

No, Heidi, you're not alone. I too used the PatternShowcase site and have watched the other developments. She seems to be very creative but not quite able to manage the technical and business ends of the business. Alas ;-(

I have been watching Heather's' sites since the days of PatternShowcase.com. I loved that site! I have taken MANY of her classes, have all the years of SewZine, clear back to Panache. I am aware of all of the problems she has been going through lately, and I truly feel for her! -- HOWEVER -- My patience is wearing thin as well. Connectivity issues have been a problem for well over a year and they are supposed to be fixed already. Yesterday, I could not connect for most of the day. As well as the things you all are talking about, and more. I really do want to continue supporting Heather, but I don't know...If there were just a little better communication. An update, apology, something in my inbox, instead of adds for new classes and new SITES! Am I the only one feeling this way?

I just looked at the website, that class was $150! And no support? I would love to hear what answers you get about the problem.

This is really interesting Darla. I have just taken my first on-line class, with the same site. I too haven't got any responses and have written the class off. REading your review, maybe this was a one-off problem and I should perhaps try another one - though maybe a different source. And I hadn't thought about being able to take it again - good idea :)
