This was the first time for this expo, and my head is still reeling from the information I gained. There were top notch speakers (Cynthia Guffy, Peggy Sagers, Linda MacPhee, Bobbi Bullard, Shirley Adams, Carol Lane-Saber, Linda Kubik, Claudia Buchanan, Barb Callahan, and Cecelia Podolak), breakfast and lunch provided with the weekend VIP Passes, and all in all a tremendous time to learn about sewing. It was great to be surrounded with hard-core garment sewers, and the inspirational techniques I learned will carry me over to Puyallup! Sure, there were some growing pains with a new show (weekend overlapped Quilt Market in Houston - so some vendors opted for Houston), but there was a very obvious push for input from the attendees to make the show even better next year, which will be a week later than Houston. I'm all for supporting this type of function, or we will find fewer and fewer to choose from!!

I think this is the same event I attended in Denton, TX.I also like the intimate classes & instruction!!I also hope they get more vendors & classes, although I found Denton only had 1 Taxi service, kinda left me stranded...

I also attended this first time event. BRAVO to Peggy Sagers and a huge THANK YOU for bringing a high quality sewing expo back to Southern California. For a first time event, it ran amazingly smoothly. (I'm sure Peggy doesn't think that with as busy as she was all weekend.) Yes, it was small, and I appreciated the intimacy. You had time to see every vendor's offerings and samples without being rushed or pushed and shoved; you had time to get to meet new sewing friends; you had time to chat with the instructors. What a luxury! I took as many seminars as were available. EVERY one was a top notch A+ winner! A half hour between classes was great, and they were all in one building so no rushing after class if you stopped to review the samples, ask questions, talk to another attendee, or the instructor ran overtime. Yes you get lots of ideas at events like this, some you will never execute, most importantly this event made me want to go home and sew...and sew and have FUN! Again, THANKS, Peggy, we needed this!
