|I found the annual show to be a bit disappointing this year due to the "competition" of the bigger show in Puyallup, WA. that drew a lot of the big names and (more importantly) vendors away to the south. This did not seem to affect the quilters, but the garment sewing section of the event got shorter shrift. However, I attended some wonderful 1-hour workshops with Kathryn Brenne (Measure Up!) and Ron Collins (Mastering RTW Techniques; Interfacings, Lining and Underlining). I also attended the Fashion Show Friday evening, and we were provided with a program that listed the patterns used to make the various garments. Next year (Mar. 28/29, 2008) the show will not compete with the WA show, so we can expect Sandra Betzina, Linda MacPhee, Debra Justice and Kathleen Cheetham back again, and hopefully more pattern companies and fabrics. I really missed Ce Podolak and the Petite Plus booths this year. The event is always well run and I am glad they keep doing it each year. Even with less vendors, I still managed to spend a bundle on books and notions! I also attended an excellent one day pre-show class with Claudine Pouliot on Body Mapping, which I reviewed separately and highly recommend.
