| Although I've not tried my hand at quilting yet, I felt this was a great show. I attended with a good friend who has quilted for years and I've gotten a small "stash" of fabrics already - at her insistance ;). There were several vendors, sewing machines shown were Husqvarna, Janome and Bernina. There may have been more, but since I'm not in the market for one, I didn't pay that close attention. They did have the long arm quilting machine which was fascinating! The show was held at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, PA which is a beautiful town and if you visit from any distance, plan to make a weekend of it. Parking was not a problem. The exhibit was breathtaking and the talent shown in the quilts on display was awsome! I did pick up a small kit to try and see if I would actually like to quilt. I also picked up 2 presser feet, mainly made for quilting, but could be used for garment sewing as well. The site showing/ demonstrating the feet are at http://www.justcurves.biz/. The merchant mall was overwhelming and we could have spent the whole weekend just perusing and buying fabric! I did notice that quilting and garment sewing are getting more integrated - there was a beautiful jeans jacket made from quilting fabric. They also showed totes, pocketbooks, etc. of all kinds made from the fat quarters. If you ever get the chance to attend, it's well worth the trip. I know we'll go again next year. |
