Recently I agreed to help a relative/professional seamstress with her work overload. My job was to iron the interfacing into the collars, cuffs, and front bands of 15 mens shirts.

Standing next to a cuckoo clock that ticked the seconds off was an unexpected GREAT help to me!! Yes, I could watch TV -- the ticking registered at a semi-concious level, and kept me from rushing through or over-steaming all those pieces.

I think I reclaim an obnoxious clock that I banished to oblivion because I couldn't stand the ticking; reminded me of water-drop torture

I used this tip yesterday! It works like a charm. I think I'd been counting too slow.
