I attended the expo held in Council Bluffs, IA/Omaha area Sept. 21-23. This is the 2nd year for this expo.
I primarily took classes on fitting and pattern alteration from Lorraine Henry, who teaches the "seam method" of alteration. I really enjoyed her workshop where we altered practice patterns. She had several lectures which were very interesting and helpful.
The classes taught by Emma Seabrooke were good, and the workshop on "Stretch lace/tiny pleats" was excellent. She is a wizard with knits.
I took a couple of classes from Kathy Ruddy and learned a great zipper technique. There were also quilting and crafting classes, but I didn't attend any.
My only criticism of this expo is that it is fairly small. There are a limited number of venders. I think that is mainly due to the population size of our area. I still managed to have a good time, though!
SewTwin said... I agree with you about Emma Seabrooke, and Kathy Ruddy.I took classes from both, who are very talented! Also, the San Antonio venue is "very small"; but the attendance was small, unfortunately!I think more of us need to get out there!! 9/28/07 1:05 AM
