This was my third year going to "sewing camp" with Cynthia. I stayed for two full week sessions (3rd time I have done this). Obviously, I love it! I have attended 9 four-day sessions in all -- and will go back next year.
After having fitted a number of patterns, I am focusing on construction. Cynthia helps you with whatever you have decided you want to do. The class is limited to six people and each person has the opportunity to work on whatever she wants. Cynthia will give mini-lessons and demos as questions come up. You really learn a lot from what other people are doing.
Cynthia is an impeccable sewer and an excellent teacher. Her standards are high but she does not insist you use them. However, as most of the people who attend what to have the excellent fit and finish of Cynthia's clothes, you find she is usually right!
I do use a lot more hand sewing and more time consuming techniques. But my clothes look good and fit well -- a big achievement with my body!
The other reason I go back is for the FUN! The other women who attend are interesting, funny, and inspirational. Plus they also like a glass (or more) of wine about 5 pm. We laugh, talk, eat, and sew like maniacs.
