I have been going to the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo for about 3 years now. I take off from work for four days. IT is like a vacation to me. I go to the "More the day before" class which are actually "learn how" classes and you get to sew on the lastest sewing machines. I had thought they had stopped having the expo because before I started going back, I had not been to one for a very long time. I happen to see the brochure in the fabric store and was very excited and I started going again. It is coming up at the end of March 2008 again and you better believe I will be there. I have not won a door prize yet, but I hope this year. They raffle off sewing machine and I need another sewing machine like I need a hole in the head. I especially love to visit the Vogue Fabric stand because I am a "fabriholic" and I would like to know who else is a "fabriholic". So if you have not been to this expo in your city, plan to visit another city and check it out. You will be surrounded by sewing machines, notions, threads, quilts, fabrics, crafts, knitting, crochet, etc. Hope you enjoy it as I did.

I go to the one in Atlanta (Duluth, GA) every year. Have been for about 6 years now. I love it. It is the one and only thing that I do for myself and I don't let anything else interfere with. My family knows that I am going no matter what. And that I am going to spend money. My birthday is the end of January and the gift from my husband is the tickets - entry and classes. My mother and children give me money to spend. This year my daughter is 8 hours away in college. Her birthday is the end of February and we plan to go visit her for her birthday. However, we were going to coordinate it with her spring break starting March 8th. No can do said I. My expo is March 6 - 8th and I will not give that up. We can go before or after that - not during.

There raffles are great. I won one of their registration packages and now get to attend for free this year. A couple of years ago I won a fashion sewing package and won my choice of patterns from most of the independent pattern companies at the conference. Good luck on that sewing machine!
