I was trying to wind a bobbin using this odd sized spool of thread. I've always had trouble with these things. There is a big hole in the bottom and that small hole on top. I came acorss this solution and I thought someone else might be interested.

I used one of those big straws you get at the take out places (a clean one - hehehe) cut it in half and it fit right over the top of the extra spool pin. The spool is seated well and works perfectly.

I do the same thing!!! Also, if you want to use those big cones, then use the whole straw but simply fold the top into the cone so it won't wobble.
