I use "fast tube"- saw this at a booth in Road to California quilt show. Cut your fabric the size your pattern calls for plus 1/4 in.
Sew right side out wrong sides together. Place on fast tube, put wire inside tube and catch cording at end and pull through tube.
Then pull back down taking material off tube and onto cording.
and zippy quick pipping! Really fast- thus the name Fast Tube

After reading a few times, I see what you are saying. I'll try it!

I absolutely love this gadget and it was worth the 50 dollars I spent. I also bought the sewing machine foot that goes with it. I wish I had had this in design school, I would have been able to have made up some of the great ideas I fantasized about but did not have the time to frustratingly turn spaghetti straps inside out. SewVERYTALL- I'm curious. What does MI mean???

Sounds like it might be handy--I'm intrigued. I can't figure out what fast tube is or what kind of pieces are being sewn together, etc. Maybe this is actually a review of a sewing supply, rather than a technique description?
