At this sewing Expo class, we each received a color wheel and about 30 different colors of 2 x 2 construction paper. The instructor,Diane Ericson, started by explaining the difference between hue, tint, shade and tone. We then looked at complimentary colors (opposite on the color wheel), Three color combos and 4 color combos by following the template on the wheel. She encouraged us to make a file of color combos by placing fabric swatches on cards. Use pictures from magazines as guides for color combos - home, fashion and garden. We then practiced by making various color combos on white paper using our colored pieces. We picked one color that always works for us then 2 more that we have not used with that color either as a solid or a print. This was an interesting and fun class. It really got me to thinking of beyond the norm color combos.

Bluefly is referring to Diane Ericson as the teacher (just a point of clarification for those who are reading the review).
