| This was a beginning crochet class at the sewing expo taught by Caryn Southwick. There were 20 in the class so it was challenging for the instructor to get to everyone and most of us were green beginners. We made flowers with 3 layers of 5 pedals and a popcorn stitched center. I was not good at this and had difficulty holding my hands correctly. However, Caryn kept showing us and most left with something resembling a flower. Mine was only half done, but Caryn was generous with her time and continued to show me at her booth. She didn't give up on me, and I finally managed to complete my flower. I will still try taking baby steps. She will be back at the sewing expo Atlanta next year with a beginner and intermediate class. Her shop, The Whole Nine Yards located in Woodstock, Ga has beautiful yarns for knitters and crochet. Don't hesitate to take her class if you are interested in crocheting. |
