Featured in the PR book!
I always wash my fabrics before cutting and sometimes have several different fabrics that I would like to wash together, assuming they are colorfast. I have found one quick way to determine if the color is NOT fast is to wet a corner of the fabric, rub some soap on it, squeeze it and see if the resulting suds turn color. If it does result in tinting the suds I know that this is one piece that I am definitely going to need to wash separately.

excellent tip. remember also that certain colours run only when washed with hot water.
