Don't cut your sleeves out until you have basted your bodice together at the shoulders and side seams. So much of the time the shoulder seam is way too long and must be shortened. If it's only a small amount you don't have to alter the sleeve cap. If it must be adjust more than just a tad, you need to recut the armseye (armhole) to fit, measure it and compare it to your sleeve. If it's a woven, there should be at least 1
