Hi everyone..... I often find that posting a review is not exactly a calm experience for me.... once you get started, there are often so many things I want to say about a pattern and the sewing process, and yet I feel some pressure to hurry up and complete my review since I am on the web site. Maybe that's partly an anxiety about losing my work, since I have written some reviews and had a crash in the middle of it that caused the material I had typed to be lost.
The answer for me was to copy Deepika's template from the review area, and paste it into a Word document. Now I can type the text portion of a review on my computer without being on the internet, and save it on my computer (named after the pattern). Then, when I am ready to post it, I can start the review on the PR site, and copy and paste the text back in. No more losing reviews part way through, or feeling rushed, and I can take my time and hopefully not forget anything. I can even compose the review while I sew the project.... I know there is a work-in-progress function available, but I think this will work better for me.... |
Great tip! I've been thinking about how to do this too since I often don't have time to compose the entire review in one sitting!

Composing the review while you sew from day to day is the best idea yet. Then you would not forget the little things that caused you problems. Or the tips that would make it easier next time.

I do the word doc thing already. I didn't even think to post it and let people know. Alrightie then. I mainly do it for the "spell check"!!! Great tip!

I have done this in the past, but find it a pain to go back and fix all the punctuation. I tend to use a lot of quotation marks and other punctuation in my writing, and it often comes out as weird code. Any tips to avoid that?

Thank you for this idea...I have already started implementing it!
