All students in the class were experienced sewers wanting to become Certified sewing teachers. We were treated as beginner sewers, which taught us new approaches and how our students feel when we went back home to teach. Like beginners, we were frustrated, made mistakes, and were encouraged to do our best - all from one of the best instructors I've ever had! The trip to Portland was worth every penny - classroom inside the Fabric Depot made this a trip to die for - believe them when they tell you to bring an extra bag. Several of us had to go to Target to buy extra luggage to bring home all the delicious fabric (30-40% off) we purchased. Catered lunches, business talks, sharing with like-minded fabulous women. Don't hesitate - this class will change your life if you aspire to teaching sewing.

Sorry for not filling out my profile - I'm a new member, and I will fill it out now. My enthusiasm for the class is real and honest. I'm charged up to begin my new teaching sewing business, and have started working on my website. Just a few things to add - we had a delightful graduation dinner at Patti Palmers home the last night, and yes, the Fabric Depot will ship fabric home to you. They also have a great website - although it's sometimes hard to buy fabric online witihout touching it.

Does the Fabric Depot ship fabric back to your home?

Thanks for filling out your profile and good luck with your new venture. You'll find lots of support and encouragement on PR. As an entirely self-taught seamstress (with lots of help from Palmer/Pletsch patterns) I've followed Patti's career with interest. She created the first pattern that allowed me to make a pair of pants that fit, way back when P/P were first associated with Vogue, nearly thirty years ago. Glad Pati is still running her school and that you got to benefit. Sue

Thank you for reviewing this. I've had this one on my radar for when I "retire" next year.
