It may be a simple tip but something to keep in mind. If you are looking to stitch a dress with thinner fabric with lining on the inside, wash it & dry it before stitching. This will make sure that when the stitching is done, the lining will not shrink on you. Usually cotton linings tend to shrink. Hope that helps.

Pre-washing is always a helpful hint! I was just working on something & almost forgot to pre-wash some trim; that would not have worked well.
