First time at a sewing expo, and I feel like I was exposed to a lot of different ideas for sewing... I am a beginner sewer though I use to sew long ago. Did not really care for the sewing for rookies classes, I did not get out of it what I expected at all. People were asking how to turn the machine on and suddenly we were putting in zippers, cording, and using a serger to make a pillow. The teacher, Pam, seemed to lose her patience and treated us like small children at a craft class. Otherwise, my friend and I were exposed to a lot of creative possibilities and I would return again. Good shopping, too.

This was my first sewing expo also, and I enjoyed it. I restrained myself on the shopping, but did get some nice ideas.

Kath, too bad about your rookie class experience. I attended this all four days and had a wonderful time. I felt that this year was even better than last year. The only class that I didn't like was the Sewing with Sheers class. The instructor made referenced to "they"(whoever they were) all through the class and the audience was able to explain techniques better than the instructor. Otherwise, I had a great time. I took five Cynthia Guffy Classes. Her Set -in Sleeve class was excellent and enjoyed all her others. There were twice the vendors this year and learned so much from her. There were twice the venders compared to last year and I spent three times the money this year, too. I have next year's expo marked on my calendar.

I attended on Friday only, and really had a great time. I wrote a little about it on the message boards under sewing events and conferences. There was much more this year than last. Marilyn, we were probably in class together! I took 2 classes from Cynthia. She and the classes were fantastic. There was much more shopping, and better shopping than last year. I'm already planning for next year!

I am looking at taking classes of Cynthia Guffy at the MPLS expo and would like some feed back from others that have taken them. I want to take the day before allday class and was wondering if the individual classes during the day covered the same things that are covered during the all day session. Any comments would be appreciated. mjgar@worldnet.att.net
