| I went window shopping last weekend. When I tried on an expensive pair of drawstring pants, I noticed that it was unusually comfortable. I examined the pants and finally understood that a part of the string, at the back, was replaced with elastic. That results in a softer waist than only string and can easily be copied. |
Sounds like a great idea. I can never get the drawstring to gather the fabric evenly around my waist and this sounds like it would help.

I like to do this on drawstring pants for 2 reasons: 1, it IS more comfortable and 2, if you play around with the elastic/drawstring ration, you can find the length that will allow you to pull the pants on and off without untying the drawstring. (Am I lazy, or what?)

I am really excited about this tip! Prior to the birth of my son, my waist and hips were very different in measurements and things always were uncomfortable and hung wrong on me! Now with the expanded stomach, this would be so much more comfortable! What a great idea!

I like to do this to my PJ pants b/c I hate fiddling with tying and un-tying in the dark when I'm half asleep & in the bathroom! [I'm lazy like Karla, I guess! :p]
