|I went to the ER08 demonstration/class at Sew Contempo in Missouri City, Tx on January 23rd. The class is sponsored by OESD (Okalahoma Embroidery Supply and Design) and stand for Excellent Results 08. We were a little late as this class was originally scheduled for the same weekend that Hurricane Ike came roaring through last September.
Class fee was $25 and included a goody bag that contained a CD of 11 designs and instructions for seven projects, a CD of all their designs, a spool of Isacord thread, samples of stabilizers, and several other notions. Lunch was also included in the fee. This was a four hour demo (10-2) with a break for lunch and shopping.
Even though this class was heavy on marketing OESD projects (everything was 30% off), I really enjoyed it. There was lots of information on all the new stabilizers that are available and how to use them, tips on hooping, design placement, and a trunk show with lots of projects to see. There was also a demonstration on the software that OESD sells. It was quite impressive and reasonably priced (also 30% off). I already have Embird so didn't get it but it seemed super simple to use.
It was an enjoyable day and I did some "PR for PR" (as Leslie in Austin calls it) so hope to see some of the other participants here.
