I have a tendency to end up hunched over sewing work, especially when it requires close attention, like removing basting stitches. I started picking out some stitches last night, and realized it was bothering my upper back and shoulders, so I took it into a bathroom where we have a high hook on top of a door for hanging laundry and robes. Hanging the garment there allowed me to work standing up straight, and as a bonus, the light was better. No shoulder ache afterward. This may become my preferred way to tackle this tedious task.
