When I was starting to organize the sewing studio when I first started teaching sewing classes, I was looking for a way to store tools in an organized way. I saw someone using a plastic fishing tackle box and I was hooked (sorry for the fishing pun!).

Bought for $9.99 at Kmart; it has multiple places for tiny objects like chalk, needles and needle threaders, a big area for scissors etc. and if you want to travel, it closes up with a click and has a carry handle!

It's very practical and keeps everything in it's place. I keep it open in the sewing studio and by now most of our sewing students know right where to go if they need a seam ripper or marking wheel!

I have a large fishing tackle box that has drawers in the bottom(covered with a lockable flap) the top opens for easy access to the large items, the 3 drawers hold all my buttons, zips, elastic etc.Fishing tackle boxes are the bomb :))
