I wasn't sure if this was a notion or a tip. I decided tip because the tip was to have a bulletin board by my machine for embroidery samples, patterns in use and illustrations. I had a functional one but decided I wanted something more fun for my sewing room.
I started with a thrift shop buy - the frame and cork board. A really nice shop next to a church in Urbana VA had this frame- solid wood and in great shape. They also had a fairly beat up cork board that would fit the frame with some trimming. My Father in Law cut the board to fit the frame. Frame and board - $12.
The frame had an off white inset on it. Some Olfray ribbon and double sided tape from the local Joanne Superstore did the trick. I also picked up some spray adhesive and hanging hardware. About $20.
The fabric is Robert Kaufman "You've got the Notions" from Z and S Fabrics:
With shipping $10.
I attached the board to the frame with some cable tacks and a hammer. I had those left over from some housing project.
