These plastic drawers (come in 3 and 5 drawer) are wonderful for organizing your sewing machine supplies.
Buy duplicates or triplicates of clippers, seam rippers, beeswax, 6 inch ruler, anything you would need directly at your sewing machine. This makes sewing much easier.
Keep your post it notes and pen there as well for quick note taking.
I also make copies of important information from the sewing manual and laminate it - things like tension settings, problem solving, needle info. It's in a folder that is on the wall near the machine.
This picture above is of a sewing machine in my classroom. Each machine is set up the same way. You can use these same ideas at home to ease the frustration of sewing.

I use this idea also. I have two two-drawer stacked with each drawer having different items. One drawer for cutting items, seam rippers, another for buttons and fasteners. I have two more that are wider which holds my threads, one for serger threads the other for sewing machine. It keeps the threads handy and dust free.

I have three sets of these little inexpensive wonders. Using a label maker, I labeled each drawer according to its contents, i.e. machine needles, bobbins, markers, tape measures & guages, etc. These little drawers are a great way to corral all the little sewing junk.
