This was the first expo of this kind I've ever attended. I arrived Thursday night and was able to attend classed Friday and Saturday.
There were so many great classes! A few of the classes I attended delt with the business aspect of sewing - starting your own, tips and tricks, what to watch out for, etc. All the instructors were extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you had.
Another great thing I was able to take advantage of was fitting classes! Have a smaller bust, broader shoulders and a longer torso and was at times discouraged when trying to sew straight from a pattern. Some of the classes I took offered insight (and encouragement!) and really gave great pointers.
With such a wide variety of classes to choose from. I had a full Friday and Saturday - which didn't leave me as much time in the dealers room. That was okay though, because I gained so much from my time there and can't wait to go back in 2009!
A note on the dealers room, GREAT stuff! Make sure you plan some free time in your day to explore. I was able to find a few things I'd been looking for, great tools and tons of people to answer any questions you have on items.
Also, make sure you check around because there were a lot of coupons and discounts throughout the weekend available at different booths.
I would encourage anyone that loves sewing and loves to learn to attend this expo and take a few classes. You'll have a great time and meet some fantastic people!
