I put a zipper into a velour robe. There were facing pieces to line the zipper and robe front. I found that after I first stitche the tape to the front edge of robe, I placed the facing over the tape and matched up the top edge of the robe and put a few pins to hold in place. I used a cording foot and ran the teeth (which were sandwiched between the robe and facing) in the cording groove. The results were the stitching was nice and straight and close to the teeth. I loved this method to put the facing in over the zipper!
