Clear elastic can be used to reinforce and prevent gapping of the neckline of blouses or dresses.
Take the neckline, stretch a piece of clear elastic approximately 1/2-3/4 inch shorter than the actual length it is to be attached to. Pin in quarters to evenly distribute the stretched elastic over the length of fabric. Slight puckering will occur when released- this is normal and desired.
Finish the seam as you normally would but maintain the stretch if finishing through the elastic. |
