This was my 1st Original Sewing Expo and I enjoyed it a great deal. I attended the expo all 3 days and took numerous sessions each day and one “hands on” fitting class with Emma Seabrooke. Emma did a great job assisting all of the students modifying the t-shirt pattern to fit us. She also provided additional information regarding how to make various necklines to the t-shirt.
A few of the highlights:
Cindy Losekamp – great session titled “Vintage Collage” with several samples and demonstrations including how to dye lace, etc.
Jim Suzio – great sessions (1) “Everything Old is New Again” (2) “Sugar Free Fundraising” – ideas on ways to use machine embroidery for fundraising instead of selling candy.
Cynthia Guffey – Core Sewing tips
Peggy Sagers – Tee Shirts & Sewing techniques
Shopping the vendor booths – in particular Vogue fabrics! Looking forward to attending again in 2010.
Laurie Lou said... Was this in Minneapolis? I too went and my friend and I relly had a great time. I took a class "sewing Sophisticated knits" by Emma Seabrooke and got some very helpful tips on using the various stabilizing tapes which I also bought at her booth. i DID LOTS OF SHOPPING and spread my $$$ around the best I could:). LOve Vogue fabrics...the staff there is so friendly and helpful. Like seeing old friends each year. THe only downturn for me is having it Downtown and paying (16.00) for parking. If you park in a cheaper ramp the haul of goods can get pretty heavy! Mine did. I hope they move it to a local with a parking lot so you can go out to your car and easily unload like we use to at the Shereton/Radisson.. 11/12/09 3:51 PM
