I often see patterns on this site that I think I am interested in, jot down the number on a handy piece of paper, and by the time I get to the store (maybe several weeks later) the paper has long vanished. I finally found a good solution to this, my cell phone has a voice memo feature, so now when I see a pattern, I grab the phone and record a short memo giving the pattern company and number. Now I can stand in the store, listen to the memo, and not forget a pattern I wanted. My little mp3 player has a voice memo function also, but I am a little more likely to have my cell phone when I need to make a note of this type of thing.

Another idea - this site has a "Wishlist" on the left hand menu. You can enter those patterns you want to keep in mind to purchase later. Then when you're headed to the store - you can print the list and put it in your purse and out the door. There is also a "Pattern Catalog" where you can list the patterns you have. I was delighted to discover these options recently!

Janet, thx! I have used that wishlist function, but am often in the store with any serious advance planning, so it doesn't help me on those occasions

Your idea is a brainstorm that could save us all. It's a bummer to get to the store, especially if patterns are on sale, and then not remember what we wanted to buy. Or, perish the thought, we end up buying the same pattern twice. Thanks! For those who don't use the voice memo, maybe they could make a fake phone contact, called Vogue Pants for example, and key in the pattern number as a "phone number". I tried to put pics of all my patterns in my ipod, but the pictures were way too small, and couldn't be enlarged. Now, with a smart phone, it might be different.

I don't have a cell phone, so I grab an index card, jot down the pattern number and throw the card into my handbag.

I love my iphone and take pictures of patterns that I want in the future. I also take pictures of ready-to-wear garments that I love and if I see a woman wearing a color combination or outfit that I think is fabulous, I have take a picture. Before that I would carry a pad and pen and sketch outfits that I liked but the iphone is even better.
