I always have problems with bobbins unwinding themselves in the storage container. Also if I drop them, they tend to roll as far as possible up under some heavy piece of furniture! I have found a solution for both of these problems that is free and maybe will help the environment a little bit also. If you buy milk or orange juice in cardboard containers, you may be familiar with the little round plastic pop out piece that has a ring on it. You put your finger in the ring and pull and the whole piece pops out, so you can pour the liquid easily from the carton. I keep those little throw-away pop-outs. I cut a slit in the ring, so that I can slide the bobbin into it. The arms of the ring wrap around the thread in the bobbin, helping to prevent wild unraveling, and the dimple shaped bottom piece helps prevent drastic roll-aways if I drop them. And it keeps a few pieces of plastic trash out of the environment. Hope you find it useful!

Also, flex tubing as used in fish tanks would work too. Just cut a small piece off and then cut the circle and place around the bobbin. Voila! And you could also write the thread color on this for even more organization.
